  fungsi continues tense  adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu aksi sedang terjadi pada waktu tertentu dimasa lampau. Aksi tersebut dimulai dari belum selesai pada saat itu.

          Adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu aksi terjadi dimasa depan, secara spontan atau terencana.

  selain itu kombinasi will dan be + present participle juga dapat digunakan untuk menghindari nada tidok sabar(impatient) atau mendesak(insistent).

            Adalah bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu aksi atau situasi yang telah dimulai di masa lalu dan maasih berlanjut sampai sekarang.
